Portland Timbers Kit Patch
for the International Day of Peace
Overview
Beginning in 2011, the Portland Timbers and Mercy Corps collaborated on a number of exciting new initiatives and the formation of a larger partnership. To commemorate and make this a community wide experience, the Timbers played a special match to show their solidarity with the International Day of Peace. Proceeds and donations from the match all went to help fund the work of Mercy Crops around the globe.
I was asked to design the commemorative kit patch worn by all the players that night. For this patch, I wanted to showcase the unity of this new partnership and how both Mercy Corps and the Portland Timbers were together working to make things better for all underserved people, at both a local and a global level.
